Nancy Guthrie’s neighbor has come under online scrutiny after a man complained that the man’s son had a long criminal history. Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 and authorities believe she was taken from her home near Tucson, Arizona, the night before.

This came after the FBI released the footage in the kidnapping case. While the post garnered some attention, it didn’t provide much detail to back up the claims. What is claimed about the neighborhood?The person commented on a page titled Missing Nancy Guthrie Discussions and Updates. “The person I see has a mustache and beard. Need to verify if he is currently in jail or on bail. I can send my information to anyone local for quick verification,” wrote the anonymous participant.
“I gave a tip to the FBI but I’m not sure I did it right. I found a neighbor with a son who has a long criminal history. It seems the boy is staying with his mother. The kidnapping and assault allegations worry me,” they added.

The post said the names of the individuals were not being added to protect their identities, unless they had anything to do with the case. The anonymous participant then shared more details about this person.
“He’s 43 and lives a few doors down with his 77-year-old mother. He’s shown a lot more for his criminal history. I pray they’ve already seen him but this guy seems violent and lives nearby,” the person added.
They also listed his alleged criminal history.

The post went viral and was also shared on other social media platforms, creating a lot of backlash on Elon Musk-owned X. “Why are they looking at him????,” asked one person
“Interesting! These plus the FBI released photos could be the key to cracking the Nancy Guthrie case wide open,” commented another. However, one person claimed that the person was kept in jail.
Given that the identity of the person was not mentioned, these claims could not be verified After these claims were made online, reports surfaced that authorities were seen going door-to-door in Guthrie’s neighborhood. Fox News also reported that investigators were seen talking to neighbors and even entered a home a few doors down.
It’s important to note, despite anonymous posts on discussion forums, there is no evidence pointing to the neighbor’s son, authorities have yet to point out. The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are in charge of the case and have not named suspects or persons of interest in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.
