According to the FBI, Nancy Guthrie’s alleged kidnappers appear to have refrained from reaching out to her family since the dreaded deadline for a $6 million ransom expired.

(Savannah Guthrie/Instagram)The deadline set by the 84-year-old’s alleged kidnappers passed on Monday at 5 p.m. Arizona time (7 p.m. ET) — with no indication that a ransom has been paid, or evidence that Nancy is still alive.
“[The FBI] “We are not aware of any continuing contact between the Guthrie family and the suspected kidnappers, and we have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case at this time,” an FBI spokesperson said late Monday, according to the NY POST.
“We are currently operating a 24-hour command post with crisis management experts, analytical support and investigative teams. But we still need the public’s help,” the spokesperson added.

We know about ‘chilling’ ransom notesMeanwhile, TMZ founder Harvey Levin revealed that his news organization was one of three that received an unverified ransom note, which included a warning about possible “consequences” if the demands of Nancy’s kidnappers were not met.
Speaking to CNN, he said, “There’s a direct, stark statement about the consequences if they don’t get that money.” Levin also noted that the note states that it is “in the best interest” of all parties involved to resolve the situation quickly.
“I’ll just say this… But when you read that sentence it’s chilling. It’s short and it’s to the point,” he added.
Did the Nancy Guthrie family pay ransom to the alleged kidnappers?According to Levin, there is no evidence of any funds being deposited into Bitcoin accounts within hours of the deadline.
He, however, added that it is conceivable that a different Bitcoin address was provided in subsequent communications to other media outlets.
Ten days after the search for Nancy began, investigators are sifting through digital and forensic evidence. The FBI is asking the public for information, and her family desperately needs answers.
