New Delhi: Post-mortem report on the death of a 25-year-old man who fell into a hole dug to repair a sewer in West Delhi, who complained Janakpuriyet to be officially released, a person who was briefed on its findings said it appeared Kamal Dhyani’s death was due to “suffocation” caused by “compression of the chest” and “soil entering the mouth and nose”.

Another senior police officer, who did not wish to be named, said the LOC was issued against the Gupta brothers on Friday, after a case of culpable homicide was registered and preliminary investigations revealed that both had fled their residence to evade arrest.
“Investigators have seized their passports,” the officer added.

Police said Dhyani fell into the 4.5-feet deep pit around 12:15 pm on Friday while walking about 20 km from the Rohini call center to his home in Kailashpuri in Palam Colony where he worked.
He lay there for at least the next eight hours, a police investigation revealed that at least six people knew about the incident but did not tell the police at the time.
At that point, Singh, who was driving, saw Dhiani lying in the pit, informed Deshraj, a guard at a nearby residential colony, and left, police said. Deshraj saw the alleged victim in the pit and reported the incident to Yogesh, who was sleeping in a tent near the pit, and returned to his post. At 12:22 PM Yogesh spotted Shikar and informed his employer Prajapati, who reached there around 12:45 PM. However, none of the four informed the police.
Prajapati then called Himanshu and the project manager about the incident and after about an hour returned home without trying to rescue the victim. “A CCTV camera captured Yogesh pulling two barricades closer to the hole, which earlier had enough gap for pedestrians and two-wheelers to pass through,” said a second officer. During the investigation, the investigators scanned CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the pit and analyzed phone call records of people associated with the company.
