Tesla Vice President Raj Jegannathan, who has been with the company for 13 years, announced his departure in a LinkedIn post. Jegannathan, who was vice president of information technology, AI infrastructure, business apps and information security, said his journey at Tesla has been one of continuous evolution.”

From the technical complexity of designing, building and operating one of the world’s largest AI clusters to the impactful contributions to IT, security, sales and service, it has been a privilege to serve,” the exec wrote.

He explained, “A comprehensive end-to-end understanding of the business was essential – enabling the team to effectively use AI to achieve meaningful results across product and customer support.”
“To the teams: You are exceptional. Thank you for being a partner and teaching me something new every day. As I move forward, I do so with full heart and excitement for what lies ahead. Thank you, Tesla for this great opportunity!” he added.
Why did he leave Tesla?Although Jegnathan did not explain the reason for his departure, company employees familiar with the matter told CNBC that, starting in January, he stopped being active in the company’s internal systems. He was one of the executives reporting directly to Elon Musk.

Beau Snyder, a Tesla adviser, posted, “Thank you for all you’ve done for Tesla and all the support you’ve given the teams. According to his LinkedIn profile, Jegannathan completed his BSc from ARLM Matric HR Second School and St. Joseph’s College of Arts and Science in Tamil Nadu. He then passed his MCA from Sacred Heart College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.
He joined Tesla in 2012 as a senior staff engineer. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has held various roles at the company over the years.
