Search the septic tankIn the most recent development in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case, FBI agents and Pima County Sheriff’s Department detectives were seen investigating the septic tank.
They entered the manhole in the back of the house and used long poles to probe the inside. At the time of writing, authorities have not released any evidence or findings from that search.
However, Josh Shearard, a former SWAT squad captain, told the Daily Mail that manhole checks are crucial because a septic tank ensures that wastewater enters the tank rather than the city sewer.
He said, “So, someone might have flushed something that would get rid of it, but instead it actually accumulates in the septic tank.”
Shearard suggested that investigators are likely trying to find anything that “could indicate any type of crime.”
