Police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor girl under the guise of exorcism in Kerala’s Kollam district.
Murari has been booked under various sections of the BNS, including sections 64 (rape), 74 (assault or criminal force), 75 (1) and 76 (sexual harassment) and more and the POCSO Act, police added. He was absconding since the attack was reported on Sunday, after which the police started searching for him, PTI news agency quoted officials as saying.
Apart from being a magician, Murario was also known to be active everywhere social media platform, police said.

Following his advice, mother and daughter visit him again on Sunday to perform the “ritual” he mentioned earlier. Upon their arrival, Murari asks the mother to wait outside and leave the girl alone with him.
When the girl came out moments later, she revealed to her mother the abuse she had suffered inside, police said.

A police team arrested Murari from a lodge in Kerala’s Sastamkota on Monday. He was then brought back to the police station.
