Charles “Cameron” Guthrie is the only son of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie who is still missing.
Charles Cameron Guthrie, son of missing Nancy Guthrie, has publicly pleaded with the kidnappers. Nancy went missing on January 31st, and no suspects have been identified.Cameron Guthrie has made two public statements targeting the person or persons responsible for the kidnapping of his 84-year-old mother. Initially, he appeared in a short joint video with his siblings, urging the kidnappers to provide “proof of life” and reach out to the Guthrie family. Of late, she recorded a separate video of herself, specifically addressing the kidnappers, which was shared on Savannah Guthrie’s Instagram account.
Nancy went missing on January 31. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said during a press conference on February 5, 2026 that the suspects involved in the case have not been identified. The motive remains unclear. Authorities said three ransom notes demanding bitcoins have been sent to media outlets and are being taken seriously. The FBI is involved in the investigation.
According to officials, the decision on whether to pay the ransom or release a video statement rests with the Guthrie family.

The Guthrie siblings, along with their mother, endured another tragedy together: the death of their father, Charles Guthrie, who suffered a heart attack when Savannah was a teenager.
“When my dad died, our whole family was hanging on to each other for dear life, because it was such a shock. How can we be a family of four when we’ve always been a family of five,” Savannah said in 2017, according to 12 News.
