Several officials not involved in the search for Nancy Guthrie have speculated that the alleged abductor knew the 84-year-old woman personally.

The search for Nancy Guthrie continues as law enforcement gathers evidence, suggesting a connection between her and the abductor. (via REUTERS)Savannah, along with her brother Cameron and sister Annie, released a second heartfelt video message directed at the kidnapper, expressing their willingness to pay the ransom demanded after Nancy’s kidnapping.

“We got your message and we understand,” TODAY co-host Savannah said in a video message posted on social media. “We are now begging you to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. It is very precious to us and we will pay.”

Experts analyzed Nancy Guthrie’s family body languageMeanwhile, retired New York Police Department Lieutenant Commander Joe Cardinale assessed the family’s body language and tone, suggesting they appeared “not excited” and “quiet.”

Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing Jan. 31. No suspects have been named in the case as the search for the 84-year-old man is still ongoing.

Cardinale, who appeared on News Nation’s “Morning in America with Henna Doba” on Sunday, said, “I really feel that this person or persons, they had some insider help to know what was going on, when to do it.” But the FBI has not released whether they have any leads on the suspect.

“I think they should keep everything close to the jacket, especially when the family expects Ms. Guthrie to come back to them no matter what,” Cardinal said.

Did the police get any evidence from Annie Guthrie’s house?Law enforcement arrived at the daughter’s Annie Guthrie home late Saturday night. After about three hours of searching, deputies left the home wearing blue gloves and carrying a brown bag.

News Nation law and justice contributor Jennifer Koffinfer commented that the situation amounted to “evidence exhumation.”

“They were in there taking pictures, and they had gloves on. That tells me they’re involved in evidence disposal and an evidence crime scene,” Coffindaffer commented.

Raising similar suspicions, Cardinal said, “The fact that they keep going back, and they keep going to both houses, and they’re recovering evidence from those areas … very telling that they might be very close to doing something with it.”

Does Nancy Guthrie know her kidnapper?Retired Lt. Randy Sutton also commented on the case, expressing his belief that law enforcement will uncover a connection between Nancy and the person responsible.

Speaking to News Nation, Sutton said, “I think there’s some connection between the victim and whoever is responsible for this crime. I think that this didn’t happen in a vacuum, that eventually there will be an arrest in this case.”
