A Lamborghini, driven by the son of a tobacconist, went out of control on Sunday afternoon before mounting a pavement and rammed into an autorickshaw and a motorcycle, injuring six people in Kanpur. Billionaire businessman KK Mishra’s son Shivam Mishra was allegedly behind it.

Eyewitnesses also alleged that private bouncers also came to the spot and tried to rescue the driver inside the Lamborghini. (ANI Screengrab)According to eyewitnesses, the luxury sports car suddenly overturned while approaching the ring road and hit several vehicles.

The family has since claimed that Shivam suffered from a medical condition and experienced a seizure behind the wheel, causing him to lose control.

A family member told the police, “She has been suffering from these episodes for the past six months.

Speaking to reporters, DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava said the incident took place around 3:15 pm.

“The accident took place near Rev-3 Mall when the luxury car, driven by Shivam Mishra, son of businessman KK Mishra, went out of control and plowed into people standing on the roadside and several vehicles, causing panic in the area,” he added.

Autorickshaws, bikers and later people were hit by the carAccording to eyewitnesses at the scene, the speeding vehicle first rammed an autorickshaw and then hit a Park Royal Enfield bike. The car collided with the bike, sending its rider flying about 10 feet into the air.

The car collided with the front wheel of the motorcycle and was dragged for some distance before it hit an electric pole and came to a stop.

After the accident, angry locals rushed to the spot and blocked the driver of the luxury car and surrounded the car.

Eyewitnesses also alleged that private bouncers also came to the spot and tried to rescue the driver inside the Lamborghini.

“I heard that some bouncers of the luxury car driver broke the window and dragged the car driver. They took him to another car. The Lamborghini car was taken to the police station. About 4-5 people were injured in the incident,” an eyewitness told news agency ANI.

The police faced a different challenge after the vehicle was taken to Gwaltali police station, where ₹12-crore car attracted a huge crowd of spectators. Officers eventually covered the car with a tarp, a move critics alleged was meant to protect the high-profile family from investigating.

DCP (Central) Atul Srivastava confirmed that an investigation is underway to verify the medical claims and circumstances of the accident.
