Markiplier YouTube has officially moved up from megastar to feature film director Iron lunghis intense adaptation of the cult-favorite indie horror video game. The self-financed project, out in theaters now, marks Marquiplier’s filmmaking debut — and he takes on nearly every major role behind the scenes, including writing, directing, producing, and starring in the film.
In an earlier report shared with VarietyMarkiplier joked about the challenge, “They said not to do it … They said it would be miserable to write, direct, act and edit a movie. I showed them. My bathroom might be a render farm right now, but I can’t wait for people to see this movie that’s mixed with blood, sweat, blood, tears, blood and blood.”

Who is Marcillier?
Markiplier — born Mark Edward Fischbach on June 28, 1989 — is one of the most influential creators in online entertainment. more than 37 million subscribers on YouTubehe made his career out of high-energy gaming videos, especially horror dramas, comedy sketches, interactive series, and vlogs. Raised in Ohio to a German-American father and Korean mother in Honolulu, he originally studied biomedical engineering before stopping to pursue YouTube full-time in 2012.
Since then, Markiplier has expanded beyond gaming content. He is also active in acting and voice work – and now, he is making his directorial debut Iron lunga self-financed adaptation of the viral horror game in which he also stars.

They immediately embark on an expedition in hopes of finding some much-needed resources. A submarine is designed and a criminal is welded inside. If they don’t break free, this will be the 13th expedition.
Markiplier also revealed that the film holds the world record for “the most blood in a horror film – or any film, for that matter”.
