Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 16: Sunny Deol starrer Border 2 entered the Rs 300 crore club despite a significant decline in its second and third weeks at the box office. In India, Border 2 followed a strong weekend rally on Saturday the 16th at Rs. 4.25 crore earned. The film collected around Rs 2.85 crore on Friday, a sluggish start to its third week. However, Sacnilk’s preliminary figures showed its collections almost doubled on Saturday.

Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the film has now entered the top 20 highest grossing Hindi films in India. Border 2 collected ₹301.50 crore on Saturday, i.e. after 16 days.

Border 2 vs O Romeo

Next week, Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo will hit the theaters, threatening Border 2. As the Anurag Singh-directed film occupies a large chunk of Indian theatres, it is difficult to maintain any momentum. The film is still expected to collect an additional 15-20 crores in India, taking the total to around ₹325 crores. Its projected budget is ₹275 crore which is a respectable but not significant amount.

Border 2 beat Sultan and Dhoom 3

It surpassed previous blockbusters including Border 2, Krrish 3, Brahmastra, Singam Again and Kabir Singh as it steadily climbed the list of highest-grossing Hindi films in India in its second week. On Saturday, it joined the ₹300 crore club, overtaking all-time blockbusters like Sultan (₹300 crore) and Dhoom 3 (₹290 crore). On Sunday, the film will surpass Padmaavat’s lifetime collection of ₹303 crore before beating Bajrangi Bhaijaan (₹320 crore) and Vaar (₹318 crore).
