Sudha Chandran recalls terrifying paranormal experiences on set: 'I felt energy entering my body'

Veteran TV actor and classical dancer Sudha Chandran recently opened up about what she believes were paranormal experiences she experienced while filming. In an interview with Hindi Rush, the actress talked about the feeling of unusual energy on the set and recalled cases that deeply affected her.Sudha said that she is extremely sensitive to her surroundings and can sense paranormal activity almost instantly.

“I sense paranormal activity very quickly”

Talking about the incident while shooting in Gujarat, Sudha said that almost immediately she felt something was wrong.“I feel paranormal activity very quickly. It happened when I was shooting in Gujarat. It happened right in front of me. I was attacked,” she said.Describing the night, Sudha recalled returning to her room after a long day of shooting.

“I reached my room around 11:30 p.m., had dinner and went to bed. I clearly remember that my mother and I slept on the same bed,” she said.

“It felt like a heavy weight was pressing on my chest”

Sudha said she woke up to a disturbing sight and an even more terrifying feeling.“When I woke up, I saw that the closet in the room was open. I felt energy moving towards me. When it reached me, I felt like a heavy weight was pressing on my chest. I tried to open my mouth, but no sound came out.

I couldn’t move my arms, even though my mother was next to me.”She added that the presence is becoming increasingly threatening. “I could see him growling. I could feel him entering my body,” she said.

“I took the name Lord Karthik”

In that moment of fear, Sudha said she turned to faith.“I took the name of Lord Karthik, somehow slapped my mother with my hand, and suddenly my voice returned. The pressure that was in my chest slowly lifted and left my body,” she recalled. Her mother immediately intervened. “My mother applied vibhuti on me and I became completely calm,” added Sudha.“This place is like that”Sudha also shared another disturbing experience of shooting in South India.“At night I heard the sound of bracelets and a woman crying,” she said. When she questioned those around her, she was met with a horrifying response. “What can we even say, madam? This is the place,” she was told.

“As soon as I enter the place, I feel that something is wrong”

Over the years, Sudha said she has learned to trust her instincts completely.“As soon as I enter a place, I feel if something is wrong. I tell my husband that this place is wrong and that we should perform Hanuman Haalis. I always do puja wherever I go,” she said. She added, “It’s possible that the spirit doesn’t want to attack us, but maybe we’re sitting in a place that belongs to it. What’s the harm in praying?”

“There must be a reason behind it”

The actress also talked about some of the customs she observed while working in the South, especially during night filming.“When I was shooting Mayuri in the South, we used to wear mogra in our hair. But as soon as night came, the hairdresser would take it off and say, ‘Madam, don’t go out at night wearing this.’ Don’t go out with your hair down. Do not wear perfume. Please change your clothes,” she recalled.Sudha said that she never doubted these warnings. “I never asked why. There has to be a reason behind it. These are hairdressers who have been there for years – there has to be logic behind what they say. So what’s the problem with following it?”She added: “It’s not like I’m saying, ‘I’m going to put on my headgear and go home, what’s the problem?’ There are certain things that I always stick to.”

“I Know I’m Blessed”

In the same interview, Sudha Chandran also talked about her video which went viral recently. The clip, shot during a mata ki chowki at her home, showed her in a trance-like state, supported by family members. The actress admitted that she does not remember what happened. “I don’t remember who I was when I was in that zone. I won’t even say that the goddess herself entered me, because if that happens, your body will explode. No human can withstand that kind of energy,” she said. She added: “Some percentage of her might have come into me as a blessing; that’s all. Maybe it was her presence, maybe not. But I know I’m blessed. I believe in these things and it happened to me.”
