(X/@karthikfortexas)”I hear all the time from constituents who are deeply and desperately concerned about the Islamization of the Dallas area,” Congressman Brandon Gill said in an interview. Voice of Real America Friday “And you see our community, our culture, the place that we know and love is being fundamentally transformed here. And my constituents and concerned and I concerned.”
The lawmaker, a member of President Donald Trump’s conservative Republican Party, said his lawmakers were “hearing” about mosques being “built near land that they or their families have owned for generations.”
“We have whole communities that are transitioning. And you talk about going to their local mall, and you look around and it’s like you’re in Pakistan, not Dallas, Texas. That’s a problem,” he added, adding, “It’s a problem.”
He also alleged in a social media post that there was “massive Islamic immigration”, which was “killing the America we know and love”.
He did not provide other supporting information, requesting a reply to his post, saying he was making the comments “to please his Indian wife”.
Brandon Gill’s wife Danielle D’Souza Gill is of Indian origin, daughter of Indian-American commentator and Trump ally Dinesh D’Souza.
“Dude is so used to living in New Delhi that hating Pakistan is second nature to him now,” said an X user. : Checking Pakistani name specifically to keep Indian wife happy,” said another.
Other answers and re-shares say Daniel has also commented on Muslims in the past.
The husband and wife were embroiled in a row months ago over their alleged communal comments about Indian-origin Democrat Zohran Mamdani when he was running for mayor of New York City, which he won.
That controversy started when an X user, Zohran Mamdani, shared a video of himself eating rice with his hands, which Brandon Gill reshared and wrote: “Civilized people in America don’t eat like this. If you refuse to accept Western customs, go back to the third world.”
Danielle D’Souza Gill echoed her husband’s comments: “I didn’t grow up eating rice with my hands and always used a fork.”
Several X users then pointed out that Daniel D’Souza Gill himself is of Indian origin, and he should know that eating with hands is a common practice in many South Asian countries.
He then brought religion.
“I was born in America. I am a Christian MAGA patriot. My father’s extended family lives in India and they are also Christians and they also use forks. Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he wrote, apparently putting the last line in Donald Trump style.
Brandon Gill represents the 26th Congressional District of Texas in the US House of Representatives. He was elected to Congress in 2024 and says he is focused on “securing borders, saving lives, eliminating government waste and restoring America’s economic strength.”
