Union Minister Chirag Paswan described the arrest of the Purnia MP Pappu Yadav As part of the process, no parliamentarian can be arrested without reason and insisting that such actions are based on specific facts.

No one can arrest an MP without reason. There has to be some information on the basis of which the action is taken. In such a situation, I believe that everyone should have faith in the judicial process. If they are innocent, no one can harm them, but if someone is guilty, because this case is very serious, and if someone is involved, I think the truth should come out.”
Paswan Also criticized opposition parties, incl Congress and his ally, the RJD, for indulging in revenge politics while in power.
“Parties like the Congress and their ally, the RJD, indulge in revenge politics when they are in power. In the NDA, if someone is guilty they will not be spared, and if someone is innocent, they will not be harmed,” he added.
Meanwhile, Purnia MP Pappu Yadav was arrested at his residence by the Patna police on Friday in a 1995 case.
Patna SP City Bhanu Pratap Singh said the case was registered under the old Indian Penal Code, which has been replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS). The case involves sections 419, 420, 468, 448, 506 and 120B and is linked to Gardanibagh police station.
Pappu Yadav’s bail plea will be heard on Monday, his lawyer Sivanandan Bharti said on Saturday, adding that Yadav was arrested following suspicious police action and shifted to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in judicial custody due to his deteriorating health. (ANI)
