New details have emerged in the suicide of three teenage sisters in Ghaziabad, with investigators uncovering a complex family structure and chronic domestic and financial stress behind the tragedy.
The Uttar Pradesh Police is investigating the death of three sisters who allegedly jumped from a window at the Bharat City Society in Ghaziabad’s Tila Mode area on Wednesday.Three sisters aged 16, 14 and 11 lived in a high-rise apartment with their father, a 42-year-old stock trader, and his wives. They committed suicide by jumping from the building on Wednesday.
When the police begin to investigate the case, they find that the family structure is much more complicated than initially believed. Inquiries confirmed that the father currently has three wives — Sujata, mother of elder daughter Nishika; Hena, mother of two younger sisters Prachi and Pakhi; and Tina. According to PTI, all three women are biological sisters.
Investigators have also noted the father’s past relationship with a live-in partner, who died under suspicious circumstances in 2015 after falling from the roof of a flat in Rajendra Nagar under Sahibad police station.

Investigators found that all three juvenile sisters who died by suicide were more attached to their father than their mother. This, they said, is why the sisters addressed their father in the suicide note and did not mention their mother’s name anywhere.
Preliminary information from scene reconstruction and post-mortem revealed that the three girls allegedly jumped to their deaths from the ninth floor of a high-rise apartment in Ghaziabad on Wednesday. Suggest no apparent foul play. Investigators said Thursday that, initially, evidence indicates the three sisters may have jumped one after the other.
Investigation is ongoingCybercrime teams are trying to trace buyers of mobile phones through their IMEI numbers to retrieve data from Korean apps, said DCP Patil.
He added that the police are investigating the case from multiple angles and are waiting for the forensic science laboratory report.
Police have maintained that the case is being treated as a suicide, with investigations focused on verifying the father’s claims regarding alleged online gaming obsession and examining all related aspects, including the family situation.
Preliminary findings, including a nine-page pocket diary recovered from the sisters’ room on Thursday, point to a strong attachment to Korean culture and alleged family feuds.
The three sisters were cremated at Delhi’s Nigam Bodh Ghat on Wednesday evening.
