Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping News: It’s been seven days since ‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother was kidnapped from her Tucson home. Although several media outlets have reported the recovery of at least two ransom notes, the police are yet to identify the suspect. The FBI said it is aware of the new message and is reviewing it.
Border Protection helicopter flies over Nancy Guthrie’s home (Reuters)”The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie. Investigators are actively verifying the information provided in the message,” officials wrote on social media.
Earlier this week, News Nation’s Ashley Banfield said on her podcast that a law enforcement source told her a member of the Guthrie family was the prime suspect. He pointed to Nancy’s son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, the husband of her second daughter Annie. However, Pima County officials downplayed the claims, saying the suspect has not been identified.

Flight to MexicoMeanwhile, on Thursday, a private missing persons investigator noted that about two hours after Nancy Guthrie lost connection to her pacemaker, a private jet left Tucson for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Steve Fisher attached a screenshot of another flight-tracking platform.
“I’m sure the FBI has already looked into this, but it’s worth noting that Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker lost its Bluetooth connection at 2:28 a.m. on February 1. About two hours later, at 4:45 a.m., a small private jet left Tucson for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was an early morning tweet,” wrote X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The investigator then goes into specifics. “One more note: this plane is a 19-year-old Cessna Citation Mustang. It differs from most private jets in that it is a very light jet that holds only 4 passengers and is flown with only one pilot instead of two. Again, it’s probably nothing, but it’s notable for the time.”
There is no hard evidence for this claim. Neither the FBI nor the police have commented on the matter.
Evidence in the Nancy Guthrie caseFamily members said they last saw Nancy on January 31 at 9:48 p.m. local time. After dinner he was dropped at his house. The next day, he did not attend church, causing concern.
Guthrie has a pacemaker and requires daily medication. His family and authorities are worried that his health may deteriorate day by day.
Officials noted that the 84-year-old mother of three was taken from her home against her will. DNA tests showed blood on Guthrie’s front porch matched hers, the county sheriff said. The doorbell camera was disconnected, and no footage was recovered.
However, officials believe that Nancy Guthrie is ‘still out there’.
