Former US Vice President Kamala Harris called it a “cover-up” at the White House on Friday (Feb. 6, 2026) after President Donald Trump shared and later deleted a racist video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama.

Mr Trump shared a social media post with a video, insulting Obama with a racist trope that sparked outrage across the US political spectrum.

The White House initially dismissed the “fake outrage” over the video shared on Mr Trump’s Truth social account on Thursday (Feb 5, 2026) night, later blaming the post on a staff error.

Ms. Harris rejected that explanation.

“No one believes this cover from the White House, especially since they originally defended the post. We all have clear eyes on who Donald Trump is and what he believes,” said Ms. Trump, who lost to Mr. Trump in the 2024 US presidential election. Harris said.
