The owner of a renowned bakery in Maharashtra’s Solapur on Thursday jumped to his death from a building on Vijapur Road. The man who was first seen on the 17th floor was brought down to the 10th floor, then ran back to the top floor and jumped.

Police said the bakery owner was stressed after moving to Pune; However, the cause of suicide is not known.

The incident took place at Panas apartment complex at 4 pm, where 59-year-old Sunil Motital Sadarangani jumped, India Today reported. He was the owner of Multani Bakery.

Initially, the man was reportedly seen roaming on the 17th floor by some residents who alerted the guard. After that, the guards present at the spot reached the 17th floor and spoke to Sadarangani.

After speaking with him, Sadarangani was brought down to the 10th floor, where he said, “I lost my car keys,” and returned to the top floor. A few minutes later, the owner of the bakery jumped from the building.

When the incident was immediately reported to the police, senior officers rushed to the spot. Sadarangani was found critically injured and rushed to hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries, reports said.

Sadarangani had moved to Pune from Solapur a few years ago and was reportedly under stress.

An investigation is underway to find out the reason behind his actions. A case has been filed in the civil police station.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness at the scene recorded a video showing the man folding his hands and praying before jumping off the building.

Last year, the daughter-in-law of a pan masala brand owner allegedly committed suicide at her home in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. Police said a diary was recovered from his home, which indicated relationship problems.
