Nancy Guthrie case update: Officials with the Pima County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday addressed several questions regarding the kidnapping of the mother of ‘Today’ show host Savannah Guthrie. It was also revealed that the FBI is now offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of the 84-year-old mother of three and/or the arrest and conviction of someone involved in her disappearance.

A pacemaker, and requires daily medication for a heart condition,” The FBI also said.
First arrestPima County officials said the FBI arrested him. The agency nabbed a fraudster who submitted a fake ransom note to law enforcement because ‘they wanted to profit from the situation’. The identity of the fraudster was not revealed at the press conference.
Suspicious updateSheriff Nanos noted that no one has been ruled out as a possible suspect, but investigators have no information that they have a suspect or even a person of interest.
“We’re actively monitoring everyone, in this case, everyone we see,” Nanos said. “We would be irresponsible if we didn’t talk to everyone.”
He also addressed unsubstantiated reports linking Nancy’s son-in-law Tommaso Cioni to her disappearance. “It’s really reckless to report someone as a suspect when they may very well be a victim,” Nanos said.
Expiry date of ransom noteMeanwhile, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Phoenix, Heath Jahn, noted that one of the ransom notes was due at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
“So we’re proceeding with a normal kidnapping case; contact will be made right away, trying to negotiate that,” Janke said. “But we’re looking at those deadlines as we go forward.”
“There is no evidence of life,” Janke added. “They are still waiting to be contacted.”
