Grammy-winning musician Anushka Shankar made a pit stop in Delhi this weekend as part of her chapter tour.What: All roads lead to the 17th edition of the India Art Fair this weekend, which this year will host 135 exhibitors from across the country and beyond. From Paragl Tandel’s Worli Koliwada series of cyanotype prints to traditional koli recipes and Deepak Kumar’s series of paintings to digital installations by Berlin-based Sam Madhu, the fair has something for everyone. Don’t forget a great line-up of bars, delis and restaurant pop-ups.

What: Grammy-winning musician Anushka Shankar made a pit stop in Delhi this weekend as part of her chapter tour. The tour marks 30 years of live performances for the sitar player, who released his trilogy album Chapters in 2023, 2024 and 2025, earning a Grammy nomination and critical acclaim. Coincidentally, the chapter’s journey to India began a few years ago.

A feast around a tree
What: Shehtuh ke patte ke pakode and ber ki chutney, among other leafy dishes, are on the menu this Sunday as Chandan Tiwari, a Delhi-based tree historian, delivers a talk titled The Edible Trees and Commons of Delhi – Battered and Fried. Apart from an impressive menu, there will be a talk about the fascinating world of tiwari plants and the many dishes we once drew from them.

Tune into Tinariwen and desert blues
What: The pioneers of “desert blues,” the Grammy-winning collective of Tuareg musicians from Tinaeroen-Algeria and Mali promises to enthrall the India Jazz Project with its blend of traditional African music and rock and blues. The band, although founded in the 1970s, only began touring in the 2000s. The Rudy Wallang Project, one of India’s most respected blues bands, will inaugurate the India Jazz Project event.

Tribute to Taib Mehta
What: To celebrate the birth centenary of legendary painter-sculptor Taib Mehta, an exhibition of 45 of his works drawn from private collectors and museum collections, finally travels from Mumbai to Delhi. Titled Tyeb Mehta: Bearing Weight (With the Lightness of Being), the exhibition will feature works from iconic series such as Falling Figure, Bull and Diagonal.
