Power met with the brothers separately after discussing the institute’s problems with trustees, fueling speculation that politics may be at play alongside their discussions of organizational responsibilities.
The meeting is significant in the backdrop of Pawar’s comments last week when he said he was not aware of Sunetra’s swearing-in as Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister — a comment that has caused a rift between the two factions of the Pawar family.
On Wednesday morning, Pawar publicly wished Sunetra luck, hinting at a possible meltdown.

After his death, several influential positions in institutes and industries held by Ajith will now be reassigned to the family. These include Chairman of Malegaon Sugar Factory, Chief Trustee of Vidya Pratishthan, President of Maharashtra Olympic Association and roles of Vasantdada Sugar Institute, Rait Education Organization and Pune District Education Board.
