Instagram experienced widespread service disruptions on Wednesday as reports from social media indicated the Meta-owned platform was offline for some users.

Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Kik, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Reddit, Thread and X apps appear on a mobile phone. (Reuters)According to tracking website Downdetector, there were more than 10,000 reports of the Instagram outage as of 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Downdetector also reported that Instagram’s website, and not its app, was experiencing most of the outages. The site indicates that the number of complainants has decreased at the time of writing.
