Chad Michael Watts was arrested Tuesday in Buda, Texas after a video of him fighting with students went viral. The clip shows the man wearing a Make America Great Again (MAGA) hat and scuffles during an anti-ICE protest.

They also said that the incident happened in Johnson High School area.
In the video, the man is seen trying to hit a female student while others jump in, leading to a brawl where she falls to the ground.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a female juvenile on the sidewalk and an adult male in a vehicle were engaged in a verbal argument. The argument proceeded to physically alter multiple individuals between the adult officers. Upon arrival at the scene, the male was located and interviewed,” the Buda Police Department shared in a statement online.
The incident comes as tempers flare over the shootings of Renee Nicole Goode and Alex Pretty in Minneapolis.

Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra said, “Regardless of one’s political views, an adult has a clear responsibility to exercise restraint, especially in the presence of children. Violence or intimidation of a minor — especially during a lawful, peaceful protest — has no place in a constitutional republic that relies on the rule of law.”
The mayor also made a statement.
“This is an emotional and sensitive matter involving minors that has deeply affected and rightly concerns our community. I urge the community to be patient and allow the Buda Police Department to complete their investigation,” he said.
