A 5.9-magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on Tuesday, with strong tremors felt in parts of Kolkata and Bangladesh.

Tremors were reported from various parts of West Bengal including Kolkata and neighboring Bangladesh due to the earthquake. (Reuters correspondent)According to EMSC data, the earthquake struck 70 miles east of Akyab, Myanmar. Tremors were reported from various parts of West Bengal including Kolkata and neighboring Bangladesh. The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said the quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles).

According to EMSC, this is the third earthquake felt in Myanmar in the last 71 hours. No damage has been reported so far.
