Savannah Guthrie has decided to withdraw from NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage The 54-year-old Today show host is making the fateful move amid the search for his missing mother, Nancy.

NBC’s Savannah Guthrie canceled Olympic plans as the search for her mother, Nancy, continues. (x)It has been officially announced that Guthrie will not be part of NBC’s coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics, according to The Sun.

Guthrie was originally scheduled to co-host the opening ceremony on Friday, February 6. He will appear alongside veteran broadcaster Terry Gannon, 62, and Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, 39.

However, Guthrie will not attend the Milan-Cortina Games due to an important family issue, Page Six reported.

The 84-year-old was reported missing on January 31. The 84-year-old has not been in contact since, as authorities continue their efforts to locate him.

Guthrie served as host of NBC Today for 15 years.

However, he was absent from Monday’s edition of the show, with co-star Craig Melvin, 46, describing the matter as “deeply personal”.

The producer, who knows Savannah personally, told CNN it was “the worst phone call of her life.”

He was last seen at his home in Arizona on Saturday at 9:30pm local time.

A family member received a phone call from a man saying Guthrie had not come to church.

His family notified the Pima County Sheriff’s Department of his disappearance around noon Sunday.

Search and rescue teams conducted an extensive search for Guthrie through Sunday and into the night, but were unable to locate him.

Guthrie is still missing, and the Sheriff’s Department is concerned that she may be abducted.
