However, soon after news of Nair’s presence in the document broke, several AI-generated photos of her with Mamdani at Epstein’s party went viral. Notably, these pictures are not real and show Mamdani as a child, while Nair was at the party in 2009. Mamdani would have been 18 then.

A page shared photos of Mamdani and Epstein side by side, claiming that the facial structure was similar. To be sure, these claims have not been verified.
Mamdani was born in 1991 to Mahmud Mamdani, a prominent educationist born in Mumbai and raised in Uganda. She met Nair in 1989 and the two tied the knot in 1991, the same year Zohran was born.
Nair tied the knot with Mitch Epstein before marrying Mahmood. The two met in the 1970s when Nair was a student and Mitch was his teacher. They married in the late 1970s and divorced three years later.
Who is Mitch Epstein?Mitch Epstein is a well-known American photographer and filmmaker. He is known for works like Vietnam: A Book of Changes and In India. Mitch has done production design work on two of Nair’s films – Salaam Bombay! and Mississippi Spice.
He has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate Modern in London.
Despite the shared surname, Mitch Epstein is in no way related to Jeffrey Epstein.
