Arizona officials announced late Sunday that they are actively searching for the mother of NBC “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie.
Nancy Guthrie, last seen in Tucson, is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, authorities are treating her missing person case with urgency.According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Nancy Guthrie, age 84, was last seen Saturday evening on North Campbell Avenue north of Tucson around 9:30 p.m. “Unknown what she was wearing. If you see her, please call 911 immediately,” one missing persons flyer reads.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said a family member of Guthrie’s reported her missing to authorities Sunday afternoon.

‘It’s very worrying,’ says NanosSpeaking to reporters Sunday, Nanos said, “We’re throwing in everything we can. Guthrie is 84 years old and not in good physical health, and so naturally that’s a big concern,” according to Fox News. The Pima County Sheriff also noted that the environment at the residence raised “some concerns for us as well.”
“It’s very concerning for us. We don’t usually bring the sheriff out to a scene like this. But what we’re learning from home is very concerning,” Nanos said. “And so we’ll just continue. The detective assassination team is looking over the scene right now.”
Nanos has verified that the woman is Savannah Guthrie’s mother. He said he has a “good mind”, but suffers from a physical condition that limits his mobility.
A missing person’s poster displayed at the sheriff’s office says Nancy Guthrie is five feet five inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
