The former Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, asked disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein to “marry me,” according to newly released documents from the US Department of Justice.

Sarah Ferguson, former Duchess of York (AP)The new revelations came Friday after the DOJ released a substantial number of documents related to convicted pedophile Epstein.

Ferguson, the mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, referred to Epstein as “I always wished”.

The former duchess’ husband, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (formerly known as Prince Andrew), is also mentioned in the Epstein files. A photo depicting the royal straddling an unidentified woman prompted renewed calls for him to testify before Congress.

Although Ferguson has not faced any allegations of misconduct, Mountbatten Windsor continues to maintain his innocence.

‘Just Marry Me’Multiple emails highlight the deep nature of Ferguson’s relationship with Epstein. In a 2009 email correspondence, the former Duchess of York excitedly informed Epstein of new prospects for her business venture.

“In just a week, after your lunch, the energy seems to lift. I’ve never been more touched by friends. [sic] Kindness than praise you in front of my daughters. Thank you Jeffrey for the brother I always wished for,” she wrote, according to the new document.

In another email, Sara expressed her affection for Epstein, saying “You are a legend. I have no words to describe my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”

Sarah mentions Eugenie’s love life in the emailThe emails also mention Princess Eugenie’s love life.

An email from Epstein to a redacted address, dated March 21, 2010, simply said “ny?” (sic).

The response, also from a redacted address, read “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to get back from a whirlwind weekend!!”

The document does not provide any additional context regarding the exchange.

Princess Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Ferguson and Andrew-Mountbatten of Windsor, and is currently 12th in line to the throne.

The princess met her future husband Jack Brooksbank in 2010 during a skiing trip to Switzerland.
