The by-election was triggered by the resignation of former Labor MP Andrew Gwynn due to ill health.
Gwynne is under a parliamentary standards inquiry after a scandal involving a WhatsApp group called Trigger Me Timbers, which shared inflammatory comments about constituencies, local party members and other MPs, led to his suspension from Labour.
Labor is facing competition in the seat from Reform, who have chosen former academic Matthew Goodwin as their candidate, and the Greens, who are now vying for the hard-right activist and anti-reform vote, are fighting Manchester plumber Hannah Spencer MP.
