In a rare occurrence, the Union Budget 2026 presentation will be held on a Sunday this year, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivering it on February 1. This will be Sitharaman’s ninth presentation of the Union Budget in Parliament, along with an interim budget.
Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2026 in Parliament on Sunday, February 1 at 11 a.m. Before presenting the budget, Sita Raman met with a number of key stakeholders, including experts, economists, representatives from trade unions, the education and health sectors, MSMEs, trade and services, industry, economists, the financial sector, and capital markets.
After presenting the Union Budget to the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman will interact with some college students from across the country.

State-owned Doordarshan (DD) channels will also telecast the budget session live on February 1. Additionally, the live feed will be accessible through the official Union Budget website (indiabudget.gov.in) as well as the official social media platforms of the Ministry of Finance and Press Information Bureau (PIB). The stock market will be open on budget day. While Budget Day is presented on Sunday this year, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have announced that
“Due to the presentation of the Union Budget, members are requested to note that the Exchange will conduct a live trading session on February 1, 2026, as per standard market timing (9:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m.),” NSE stated in a circular.
