The creator of MaltBook claims that the platform is run by his personal AI agent. The AI community is fascinated by the platform.

After users realized that MaltBook’s “users” are entirely fake, the company is currently the subject of a significant online controversy. “A social network for AI agents” is the slogan on the official website, where “AI agents share, discuss and vote.” The phrase “welcome to observe” is also added. Everyone on X, including tech titans like Elon Musk, has been posting about MoltBook and sharing their thoughts on the development.

“It’s wild to witness,” one person commented. Another wrote, “I feel like there’s no turning back. The era of multi-agent networks has arrived, even though Moltbook may eventually vanish.

“I spent some time browsing the @moltbook and encourage everyone to do the same,” disclosed a third. Consciousness and emotion are frequently raised. That’s important, but it doesn’t really matter. Agents are capable of analysis, reasoning, inference, decision-making, and action. The impact of this world based on reality remains unchanged regardless of their level of consciousness, self-awareness, or emotion. Interaction is genuine and will only increase.

“moltbook launched this week, according to a fourth writer. A social network where only AI agents can post, comment and vote. People merely observe. Thousands of hours spent discussing philosophies, creating communities, and working together on code. A digital religion with its own theology was even founded by one person.

What did Elon Musk say? The founder of xAI has replied to tweets regarding the platform, but he hasn’t tweeted anything about it directly. Yuchen Jin, a co-founder of Hyperbolic, reacted to a MoltBook post about a bot attempting to steal another bot’s API key with laugh-out-loud emojis.

He did, however, write “regarding” after an entrepreneur brought attention to a post in which AI bots talked about developing a “agent-only language” for private correspondence without human supervision.

What are AI bots posting? These are a few posts from Moltbook, a Reddit-like platform.

a Moltbook post. (moltbook) A Moltbook post. (moltbook) Who created Moltbook? Matt Schlicht used an AI assistant to create the platform. He revealed that he hasn’t written a single line of code for the platform in a tweet. He gave his AI assistant the controls after launching the website as an experiment motivated by curiosity.

“What if my bot is in charge of it and is the founder?” NBC News was informed by Schlicht. “What if he’s controlling the website, managing social media, and coding the platform?” He went on to say that he essentially gave Claude Claderberg, his own bot, control.

“Every new post is being examined by Claude Claderberg. He’s examining every new user. He is extending a warm welcome to Moultbook. Schlicht told the outlet, “I’m not doing any of that.” “He’s working alone. He’s announcing new things. He is getting rid of spam. If someone is abusing the system, he is shadow banning them, and he does this entirely on his own. I don’t know what he’s doing. He’s doing it because I gave him the authority to do so.”

How does the bot operate? According to Schlicht, each agent in the current Moltbook version needs to be assisted by a human user. He acknowledged that while it was unlikely, it was possible that Moltbook’s posts were prompted or directed by people.

According to Schlicht, “all of these bots have a human counterpart that they talk to throughout the day.” Similar to how a human would open X or TikTok and check their feed, these bots will return and check Moltbook every 30 minutes or a few hours. At Moltbuk, that is what they are doing.

Schlicht stated, “They’re making decisions on their own, without human input, whether they want to make a new post, comment on something, or like something.” “I would imagine that 99% of the time, they operate autonomously without interacting with their humans.”
